Wes Edens is a self-made billionaire who co-founded Fortress Investment Group in 1998 along with Robert Kauffman and Randal Nardone. He sits as one of 7 chairmen on the company’s board. Fortress was the first private-equity and hedge-fund manager to go public in the U.S. Wes attended Oregon State University where he studied finance. Wes Edens was a partner at Shearson Lehman Brothers Inc. and BlackRock Inc. before he co-founded Fortress. Future Endeavors

Wes Edens plans to build a train line between Miami and Orlando Florida as well as a liquefied natural-gas plant in Florida.
