Fantasy baseball is here in full swing and people are deeply settled into the grind of setting their MLB lineups. The All Star break is behind us and now teams are looking to the future and the postseason. While that happens us loyal fantasy baseball players are trying to get the best players available. We will look to the waiver wire today, with advice from the Fantasy Alarm, in order to set our teams up for success.
Finding the best hitters available relies upon you looking for potential players with positional opportunity. These kind of game changing hitters aren’t always easy to find but they are there and available.
Ben Gamel, OF – Seattle Mariners
Ben Gamel takes the place as our top waiver wire addition due to his place in the Seattle offense and his skills at the plate. Gamel was killing it in Triple-A as a prospect for New York before being dealt to the Seattle Mariners. Gamel finds himself atop the batting order where he is hitting for average while adding a fair bit of pop. Gamel will continue to get daily at bats in this potent offense.
Rhys Hoskins, 1B – Philadelphia Phillies
Rhys Hoskins is probably our favorite big swinging prospect at Triple-A. Philadelphia is falling apart at the Big League level and Hoskins might be the late season call up to change things up. Hoskins has prodigious power and if he is called up he will make an immediate impact inside of the Philadelphia roster.
Kennys Vargas, DH – Minnesota Twins
Our final free swinging suggestion from the waiver wire comes to us by way of Minnesota. Kennys Vargas won’t hit for average but he has 30 home run potential in the heart of the Minnesota offense. Vargas can be had cheaply and should be added in all leagues.
